Review: Darkness Breaks
Title: Darkness Breaks (Darkness Falls #2)
Author: Jessica Sorensen
Summary:
Kayla made her choice and now she has to live with it. She
stays with the Day Takers, hiding in the city, staking vampires. But fighting
vampires as a human is difficult.
Sylas constantly pressures Kayla to choose the life of a Day
Taker. But until Kayla knows what Monarch is planning, she can’t make her
choice. Plus there’s Aiden. No matter how hard she tries, she can’t stop
thinking about him.
As Kayla’s memories resurface, the pieces of her history
unfold. She learns of Cell 7, a place that Kayla believes holds the answers to
the creation of the virus. But getting to Cell 7 is a dangerous mission. And
with Kayla's strength weakening, it's one mission she might not make it through
alive.
Review:
So, this book starts immediately where book one stops. Again,
the same people are present. We have Sylas, the bad boy with a hidden good
heart. Aiden, the liar who swears he lies to protect her and because he loves
her. Monarch, the twisted doctor who has created them to save the world, even
though he is the one who destroyed it. And of course Kayla, the main character,
the protagonist. The twisted confused girl, with hidden memories. The one
created to save them all.
The book was contact non stop action. One secret revealed
after another. (yet still SO many unanswered questions)
I should correct myself. In my review of book one, I said
the Highers were a form of Vampire. That was my assumption, yet it is still not
for sure (even after this second book) so… im still gonna think it. Though in
this book, there was a new cross breed introduced. (but not explained)
See , that’s the thing about Sorensen. A lot of her books
have a ton of plot holes, and SO many unanswered questions, and unimportant
details. But even with all this errors, the books are freakin awesome bec of
the story telling. I WAS Kayla. I felt like her, I thought like her, I believed
in her. I lived in that desolate world, with monsters and liars and not one
good person around.
If you haven’t read these books yet, you should! I recommend
to ANY person that enjoys anything paranormal, romantic, suspenseful, or YA!
